MEET THE TEACHER

I am incredibly excited to be teaching at Spicewood as a fourth-year first grade teacher! I grew up just down the road in Pflugerville, Tx. I then moved a little further down the road to Austin which is when I attended and graduated from the University of Texas in May 2015. There I received my Applied Learning and Development/Early Childhood-Grade 6 ESL certification. (Yes, I am a die hard Longhorn fan!) During my Professional Development Sequence at UT, I was a Pre-K teacher intern at Forest North Elementary in RRISD, then during my senior year, I interned and student taught in first grade at Boone Elementary in AISD.

In my free time I like to bake all different types of sweets and try cooking new recipes. I LOVE FOOD, but I love exercising and being active outdoors just as much! I also have a great passion for traveling. I have been able to visit South Korea, Vietnam (where my family is from), Italy, Russia, Mexico, and 10 different states in the U.S. Last but not least, I have a 8 year old Yorkie named Ollie who is the sweetest ball of fur that I enjoy spending time with! My vision as a teacher is to build relationships with my students by getting to know all of them individually as a learner and as a person. I believe that building a foundation with my students will help me understand and provide the support that they will need to be a successful lifelong learner. I am so excited and eager to work with your child. I know that we are going to have a PHENOMENAL school year together! :) |
